The state of Montana contains numerous mountain ranges of the Rocky Mountains. This
geographical fact is reflected in the state's name, derived from the Spanish word mountain.
A population density is the third lowest in the United States. Millions of tourists annually
visit Glacier National Park. Three of the five entrances to Yellowstone National Park is
located within the state boundary of Montana.

Montana, which has served as Marlboro Country in advertisements,
banned smoking in all public buildings.

Wayne McLaren, an actor sponsored by a tobacco company, died at age of 51 from a lung cancer.
The word he left before the time of death is:
'Take care of the children. Tobacco will kill you. I'm the living proof of it'.

A depicting rugged cowboy puffing on cigarettes while riding a fence line, is about to outlaw smoking
just about everywhere but the great outdoors. The state-wide ban will apply to nearly all enclosed
places open to the public, including restaurants, stores, office buildings, schools and public transportation,
starting October 2005. The law exempted 1,700 bars until September of 2009.

Few smoking violations reported to the State Officials.

To comply with the ordinance to prohibit smoking in a public place, the sole exception, which was applied
to a bar and casino was expired, and Montana became the smoke-free state. The only thing failed
to include in the ordinance would be the smoking restriction in the area around the entrance and windows
of the buildings.

According to the state health officials, only a few cases violating the state ban during the one week period
after the strict smoking ban came into effect to bars and casinos. Businesses that violate the ban receive
an educational letter after a first offense. A second offense brings a warning, while third, fourth and fifth
offenses result in penalty of $100, $200 and $500 fines, respectively.

About 16 percent of Montanans are smokers, compared with 20 percent of Americans overall.
The Quit Line offers free counseling and nicotine replacement products. It is so predicted that
the Quit Line might get busier as the weather turns colder and smokers no longer want to stand outside.
The Montana winter will help a man to quit smoking.
