Ukraine imposed a blanket ban on smoking in enclosed public places.
A new law has entered into force that has extended the existing smoking
ban.
Smoking is now prohibited on the premises of all restaurants, cafes and
bars and in cultural,
sport and government buildings (the ban previously covered health and education
facilities).
The new law also prohibits smoking at public transport stops in addition
to the existing ban
that covered public transport vehicles. It became effective from December
2012.

However, the real situation (as usual in Ukraine) is far from what the
law says.
Most restaurants and clubs still allow to smoke and even offer Shisha/Kalean,
according to the travellers' information appeared on the TripAdviser.
It is known that the smoking restriction in Ukraine is incomplete with a low enforcement.
