Sao Bento Train Station
The Sao Bento Train Station is located in the city of Porto, in Portugal.
Inaugurated in 1916, the classical
station is known for its tile panels that depict scenes of the history of Portugal. It is located in the Almeida
Garret Square, in the center of the city.
The most notable aspect of Sao Bento Station is the large, magnificent
tile panels in the vestibule. Around
20,000 celadon tiles, date from 1905-1916 and are the work of Jorge Colaco, a Portuguese painter specially
known for his works as azulejo tile painter, alluding to the history of
transport and Portugal cover most of
the atrium.

Trains arrive here and depart to the major cities of the north of Portugal, while the service to Lisbon is at
Campanha Station, which is easily reached by Metro from the center of Porto,
including from Sao Bento Station.

カンパニャン駅である。市の中心から少し離れるが地下鉄の駅が直ぐそばにある。市の中心部にあり多くの観光客を
引きつけているのはサン・ペトロ駅である。ポルトガル北部や近郊への電車が発着する。見落とすことが出来ない
のがサン・ペトロ駅ホールのタイル壁画である。上品な青磁タイルに描かれたポルトガルの戦争歴史、農民の
暮らしなどは必見の価値がある。
