TAIPEI METRO RAPID TRANSIT NETWORK

Taipei (population 2.7 million) , the capital of Taiwan, is developing a network of 4 mainly underground
metro lines and 1 automated elevated light rail metro line to relieve the city from traffic congestion.
The red, green and orange lines are now operated jointly. Green labeled trains from Danshuirun through
to Xindian, and orange labeled trains from Beitou run trough to Nanshijiao .


Nangang-Yongning Line　南港・永寧線

MRT南港駅は板南線の始発駅である。2008年12月に開業した最も新しい駅である。今、急ピッチで巨大な台湾高速
鐵道（高鐵）の南港ターミナル駅を建設中である。駅周辺には住宅、事務所など全くなく、未開発地となっている。
ただバイクのみがMRT駅周辺に100台近く整然と並んで置かれていた。地下のホームは閑散としていた。壁面の
動物画が気持ちを和ませる。

MRT市政府駅には映画のコマのディスプレイがあり前衛的な造形物が駅のホームを飾る。駅を出ると南方に市政府の
他、大企業の建物が周囲を威圧するように立ち並ぶ。ビジネス街の隣は新光三越百貨店を始め、ハイセンスな
ショッピングセンターが集まり、ビートの効いた軽快な音楽が遊歩道に流れてくる。「本館全面禁煙」の標識は
あらゆるビルの入口に貼られている。

台北市の公共自転車レンタルサービスは、台北市内に11のレンタルステーションを設け、500台の変速自転車を
レンタルし、借りた場所とは違った場所での返却が出来る。公共自転車レンタルは、電子式無人化管理を採用し、
クレジットカードを各レンタルステーションで登録すれば、各駐輪場で自由に借りて、返却することができる。
料金は申請時に手続き費を払った後、乗車時間に応じてレンタル料金が徴収される。ただし、最初の30分間は
無料である。運営するのは捷安特公司。

MRT市政府駅から徒歩12分で「台北101」タワーにたどり着く。高さ509メートルで地上101階、地下5階の超高層ビル
である。ブルジュ・ドバイを除き世界一高い。エレベータは東芝製で毎分、1,010メートルの高速で上下する。実際
乗ってみて全く揺れを感じない。すばらしい。ギネスブックから世界最速と認定された。上昇時、下降時共に、階層、
高度、速度、カウントタイマーがリアルタイムで表示される。高層建築体は地震、風圧に対応せねばならない。ことに
大型台風の通り道である台北では暴風雨対策に力点を置いた。87階から92階までの中央吹き抜け部分に重量、660トン、
直径5.5メートルの球状のＴＭＤ（チューンドマスダンバー）が設置されており、耐振型ビルとしている。

The fastest in the world are in Taiwan's 101-story Taipei 101, the world's tallest skyscraper. They were supplied
by Toshiba Elevator and whisk people to the top of the high-rise at 1,010 meters per minute.

The building contains 101 floors aboveground and 5 floors underground. Its postmodern style combines
Asian and international modern and traditional elements. It is designed to withstand typhoons and
earthquakes. A 660 metric ton tuned mass damper stabilizes the tower against movements caused by
high winds. The damper can reduce up to 40% of the tower's movements.
